Team ARIA also applies its research to pursue many projects outside of what is described elsewhere in this website. Primarily, these projects investigate aspects of substance use and mental health disorders. For example: 1) a scoping review of the pharmacogenetics of nicotine cessation across racial, ethnic, and ancestral populations; 2) using network theory to investigate comorbidity in internalizing and externalizing disorders; 3) investigating racial and ethnic differences in comorbid psychosis. However, Team ARIA also conducts research in other related phenotypes, such as chronic disease multimorbidity and social determinants of health. We focus on addressing any public health issues that come across our path, such as those from our community partners, collaborators, or from independent research ideas from students/researchers who join our team.
